Prussia's Bedroom at HQ
May. 17th, 2012 08:21 pmEventually Prussia is going to accept her fate as being stuck in HQ and someone will explain to her the whole deal with the bedrooms and so on, so here's a detailed description of what she's going to come up with. She may not seem like it at first but Prussia is private in her own way, especially about her living space, so not many are going to be able to see it (or it in its entirety) with her permission. But for those curious or who intend on sneaking in without her permission here's what you'll find.
This is the floor plan, so I'll be referring to how it's labeled as I describe each room. Basically Prussia is a selfish fuck and if she's going to be living by herself for the first time since she was a little kid she's going to give herself a two floor studio apartment with lots of room to do as she pleases. She doesn't need all that room but she wants it.
What is labeled COURT is actually the hallway at HQ so that white square in the upper right corner is how you would enter the room. The other white square next to it is a coat closet, nothing exciting. If you enter the next door in front of you, you'll find the BATHROOM to your right. It's pretty simple, just a toilet, sink, and shower. Despite how much she cares for her hair she doesn't really spend that much time in the bathroom or find it to be of much value so it'll remind you of a bare military bunker bathroom, or a prison bathroom but with less issues wrt soap, completely lacking in feminine or even individual touch.
As you continue down the narrow hall, which is incidentally made of hard wood floors, there's another door to your right that leads to BEDROOM 1. Except this is not her bedroom. She's actually using this room as a study. Not that Prussia has need for an office here at HQ, but she's actually kind of a bookworm. So there's a fireplace, fluffy carpeting, and a few plush sofas and chairs in there but it's mostly a giant room full of overly stuffed bookcases. All her books from home couldn't even fit nicely in here, HQ is such a jerk, so it's kind of looks like pulling just one book out will make the whole thing come down on your head. No manuals or research books in here like you might find with a Germany, these are mostly all fiction, recent stuff and timeless classics alike. The majority is in German or French but there's some Latin from old times and her English collection is growing. There's also a staircase in the back corner that takes you upstairs but we'll get back to that.
Continuing on is the LIVING ROOM with attached KITCHEN. She knows HQ has its own stable kitchen but she doesn't care, she feels better having one of her own even if she doesn't cook much. She knows how to, of course, but Germany and Austria cook better than she does so she's gotten used to bothering them when she's hungry. So yes, it's small and she doesn't even have a proper space for eating. The living room part has a huge entertainment system. Giant TV, tons of gaming systems, big speakers, and cases for all her games and movies and so on. There's also a giant couch so she can sit and get comfy while she's gaming or watching TV.
There's nothing of interest on the BALCONY it's just that despite being a basement dweller she does enjoy fresh air from time to time. If she does let you into her room chances are this is as much as you'll see. Though she likes to hide her bookworm tendencies, there's nothing on the first floor that's terribly private; she can find it within herself to be neighborly enough to invite people she likes this far. Upstairs, however, is somewhere even family would have to earn their way up to.
If you take the stairs in her study/reading room, you'll find your self in yet another LIVING ROOM.She doesn't actually have much up here yet, as she really doesn't need this much space, There's been some redecorating and though the walls are still lined with photos and other memorabilia from home, it's rather bright and sunny now. She added in a window up at the top since Gilbert's idea of a fireplace was hard to pull off (yes this means Fritz had to move to the other wall to keep him from getting damaged, feel free to trip up her stairs to your hearts content) but new cute stuffed animals live amongst the books that are here, and there are a few big comfy bean bag chairs to roll around in now too.
Next to the stairs is a door to BEDROOM 2, however, this is also not her bedroom. For now it is primarily a storage room. Which of course means there's nothing in it as she hasn't thought to spirit more things in yet. But as she does, or as she gets more things here in HQ this will become the room where all her junk goes. Anything that doesn't have a proper home elsewhere in the room. Continuing with the redecorating this room has turned into a gym, it took a few weeks for HQ to grant her request but now the floor has good mats for wrestling and sparring and there are weights and other technical equipment about, including a punching bag. That's her favorite and pity whoever has their picture attached to it this week. Through the door is a Jack-and-Jill BATHROOM that is just as bare as the one downstairs.
And finally, through the other side, is another BEDROOM 1 which is actually her bedroom. Unlike her bed at home, her one at HQ is big and luxurious. A King, four corner poster bed, with an awning and drapes like back in ye olden times. She doesn't close them often but again, if you give her the opportunity to have anything she can think of, she'll go for the ritz while she can. There's also a desk against the side wall with her laptop and some new diaries to write about her adventures at HQ (her old ones are safe at home so there can be no unfortunate accidents). Her wardrobe is opposite that, and not terribly full; she really doesn't have that many clothes and certainly nothing fancy. if she's not in her trademark mini skirt and blouse and coat then she's in jeans and a hoodie and/or T shirt. and it too got an upgrade, hence the stuffed animals moved to the other room. It's still not as nice as her wardrobe at home- since HQ has tons of wardrobe rooms of its own- but one can never have too many clothes when your twin frequently "borrows" them. If anyone is ever lucky enough to come into this room they'll also notice an absurd amount of stuffed animals. The bed and desk and every nook and cranny is littered with them. She loves stuffed animals.
As to the general color scheme of the place, it varies. The wooden floors are a dark wood primarily, there's white tile in the kitchen and bathrooms. Where's there's carpet it's darker shades of blue. Her bedroom has blue wallpaper to match, while the other rooms are various shades of white/off-white/grey; she really didn't put too much thought into that because she doesn't care.
Edit: As implied above by the striketext a rather dramatic change has come to Julchen's room since
dererste arrived; her downstairs hall now has a sliding glass door that leads you straight to his room. That's right she kind of has a roommate, and her kind of roommate bullied her into changing things up but it's mostly for the better! The door connecting them is pretty much always open by default so the downstairs at least is as much his space as it is hers.
So there you have it! Prussia's awesome room. Beware all those who earn the right to enter!!
